Partners at Woodland Ways

A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never see.
Ancient Greek proverb
(We plant trees at any age, whatever our gender..Ed.)

Woodland Ways depends on our partners, whether community members,
our volunteers or organisations that deliver financial and operational support.

This web page offers your more detailed links to our partner pages.
We hope that you find them useful.

We are pleased to feature the work of The Green Light Trust.

From Seed to Tree:

This seasonal programme is designed to engage young people in the woodland development cycle. Working with partners who are developing community woodland, children are supported in their learning by being encouraged
to plant and nurture tree saplings in growing woodland.

Sensing the Rain Forest:

Green Light use their specialist presenter to deliver a journey through an imaginary rain forest. This multi-sensory exploration is explicitly designed to foster the interest and engage pupils who have learning difficulties.

Forest Schools:

The aim of the programme is to develop children's sense of and
understanding for the natural world. Exploring the environment,
using their own local woodland, to take part n child-centred,
children led activities that foster an understanding of risks, care
for themselves and the environment and responsibility for others.

Spadeworks:

Focussed on supporting the development of school grounds, the programme involves pupils, parents, carers and teachers in the skills of
practical tree planting and landscape management and care.
The programme is designed to include follow up visits to continue
the learning and understanding process.

Woodland Ways is but one community woodland partner in the GreenGreen Light Trust Light partner network. The programmes of work that Green Light offer are a chance to profoundly affect the understanding of young people in relation to their environment.

Planting trees and developing woodland, in partnership with Woodland Ways, will help us to achieve the aim of the Green Light Trust...

'to help develop wise caretakers of the earth's resources
and to impact on 100,000 children in the next ten years'.

We share that aim – you can help us too.
